My passion for sewing was influenced by my Grandma, Auntie Becca and my
Mom. My Mom and I would often go to the fabric district in downtown LA
or to the local swap meet to purchase fabric. Many days we would spend
time in my Aunties small shop watching her sew. When it was almost my Bday, I asked my brother Fred to buy me either a door for the
garage or a sewing machine. To my surprise, Ate Tasha (my sister in law)
and my brother sent me a brand spanking new sewing machine. I loved it! I
was never trained or went to school but I learned to sew by years of
watching my family sew. Here is the first dress I made, without any
pattern and with just my imagination.
yay!! :) you are so talented, keep it up my love!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! I did one of those groupon type deals for a 6-week sewing class with my Mom, and I didn't even finish making my skirt =( Of course my Mom was the one who showed up to class on time, did her homework AND extra practice on our machine at home!!! I still have a lot to learn from her. Lol
